Extractor

Remove unused IBM i code easily

Removing unused programs is relatively straightforward (though not done frequently enough in our experience) but removing unused code from programs is more difficult and this is where our latest product Extractor comes to the rescue.

Unused code can be a major overhead, slowing down support and coding activities and can even be a security or bug risk.

Transformation and modernisation projects are often priced by line of code , so unused code can not only increase the cost and duration of a project, but it’s overhead and any risks are included in the new system.

Extractor can also be used to extract specific functionality , to deliver a read only api for example or to open up a system partially to customers or suppliers.

  • Keep your codebase consistent with actual usage by removing unused code. Reduces support overheads , reduces risk of errors and so on.

  • Extractor can be used to extract the business rules for specific processes in your systems, for documentation purposes or to assist design of changes or new systems etc.

  • Extractor allows you to pull out specific functionality - e.g. read only access to orders and prepare that for deployment to the cloud or for use with an API.
